Improve standard of care given to patients with Spinal Cord Injury in Hospitals
Improve the standard of care in general hospitals for those admitted with Spinal Cord injury, to ensure their basic needs are met
The horror stories told by people with SCI, who are admitted to a general hospital, are terrifying, there is a complete lack of knowledge for even basic care needs.
This lack of care can & will end up in further disability & illness. This is not just a health issue but a human rights issue.
We ask for further training for all staff & more spaces to be made available in SCI units.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about patient care are a matter for the NHS and individual clinicians, not the Government or Parliament.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review care for Spinal Cord Injury patients, or to increase funding for care for these patients, if either of those are things you'd like to happen.
