Grant amnesty for all asylum seekers waiting for more than 3 years
The Government should grant an amnesty to asylum seekers who have been in UK for more than three years, but limit their access to benefits other than for medical treatment.
Granting this amnesty would allow these people to work legally and pay tax, helping the long list of new asylum seekers to be dealt with. This would also reduce the cost to taxpayers of their housing and other forms of support, and reduce the burden on the Home Office.
