Impose a windfall tax on energy companies to offset the increased energy costs.
Impose a tax levy and redistribute the money to UK energy users to offset the recent energy price increase. Parliament to investigate how a windfall tax can also be used to reduce energy costs at source by expanding UK energy storage and nuclear power plants to prevent future energy crises.
Government should publicly recognise that energy companies are not using the increased profits to invest in technology which could reduce energy costs, therefore government should instead publicly recognise energy companies are using the profit increase to buy back shares, pay dividends and pay executive bonuses, none of which benefit the UK.
