Increase the dedicated funding towards childhood cancers from 2% to 8%
Only 2% of cancer research funded by the government in the UK is spent on research that is fully dedicated to childhood cancer.
Current treatments/drugs are decades old with harmful side affects we need investments into new drugs. We need investments into our children. Our Future.
The majority of funding comes from the generosity of the public making voluntary donations which demonstrates the high priority the public places on the importance of this matter. It should not be an excuse for the government to abdicate there responsibility towards funding and finding a cure for our children.
My little cousin aged 4 is currently battling neuroblastoma cancer and has had his childhood ripped away from him. It's a traumatic mental and physical battle that no child should endure
