Change the way autism is screened and diagnosed.
The way that autism spectrum disorder is diagnosed and screened for in the UK. Isn’t working. As thousands of autistics are diagnosed late in their life due to the inherently misogynistic and flawed system that’s used now.
Speak to actual autistic people for research into how it is diagnosed. This includes all types of people including those assigned female at birth. As there’s a huge misconception that people assigned male at birth are “more likely to be autistic” which is entirely false. The only reason we see that is because the current autism test is based solely on how autism affects the male sex. Growing up without a diagnosis or any support is extremely traumatic and shouldn’t happen anymore

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Diagnosing autism is a matter for individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review how autism is identified and diagnosed, if that's something you'd like to happen.
