Change General Medical Council (GMC)Act 1983 to safeguard skilled Doctors&NHS

Petition Details

The current adversarial GMC system neither protect, nor promote or maintain health care & safety of patient care.Doctors get seriously harmed when the GMC decides to conduct an inquiry at short notice without mediation or warning by (IOT)or MPTS)Change of GMC act spurred by C.Health and parliament.

Additional Information

Doctors should be independent of political pressures, commercial interests, lobbying by interest groups’ and other subversions of good medical practice. The ethical basis of medical practice must be recovered by safeguarding and re-instituting the freedom of a doctor to speak to protect and on behalf of their patients. The GMC has undue powers to impose conditions on their practice, suspension or erasure a doctor’s name from the medical register and to penalise experienced, hard working doctors.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the current provisions of the Medical Act 1983 regarding the General Medical Council, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like the Government or Parliament to make to this legislation.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
