Draw up and implement a specific Ukrainian refugee strategy for the UK
The Government should draw up and share with Parliament and the public a specific strategy for accepting Ukrainian refugees into the UK who are seeking to avoid the present conflict. The strategy should include objectives, process and timing and assign responsibility within the Cabinet.
Many will be familiar with the Kindertransport efforts during the Second World War, which resulted in the rescue of thousands of children at risk in Nazi-occupied Europe. The present conflict in Ukraine has the potential to pose a similar threat to the most vulnerable. The Government, learning from that process in 1938 and onwards, draw up and share an actionable strategy for accepting refugees from Ukraine, as required.
