Welcome refugees from Ukraine Make asylum seeking process easier
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has displaced hundreds of thousands of people in desperate need of protection as their homes are being bombed and their country invaded. This war is likely to last. The UK government must ease asylum regulations for refugees, regardless of their links to the UK.
Lord Ahmad, UK Minister for the UN declared on 23 February 2022 that
'We stand with the people of Ukraine. We stand with their right to determine their own future.'
The UK Government is currently only processing visa applications from Ukrainians with family connections to the UK. The government must protect Ukrainians and ease asylum regulations for people seeking refuge in the UK, regardless of their dependency status.
