Waive visa requirements for all refugees fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine
The UK should play a leading role in providing sanctuary as urged by charities such as Amnesty International and Save the Children. The government should work with international partners and UK councils to support any scheme helping families of all nationalities fleeing Ukraine.
The UN has warned that five million people could be displaced by Russia's invasion. The responsibility of supporting these refugees should not be placed on only a few neighbouring countries. The global community must extend support to all people fleeing the invasion of Ukraine. UK government action needs to have tangible results rather than simply being verbal support.
