Petition Action

Provide safe passage and sanctuary for Ukrainian refugees

Petition Details

The UK government has a responsibility to create a safe path for those fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. With routes out of the country restricted, we demand the UK government work with the UN and Ukraine's neighbours to provide safe passage to the UK for those seeking sanctuary from conflict.

Additional Information

Estimates from the UN Refugee Agency indicate nearly 120,000 Ukrainians have already fled their country, and the UN predicts this conflict could result in as many as 5 million displaced people. Boris Johnson assured President Zelenskyy of the UK’s ‘unwavering support’ of Ukraine. We hold the UK government to this, demanding support is offered with a rapid response that ensures the safe housing of Ukrainian refugees within the UK. Government inaction at such a time would be unconscionable.
