Stop the approval of any more solar farms on agricultural land in England.
500 UK solar farms are now in operation with 423 large scale sites being considered. Planning success is high & local planning authorities less keen to refuse due to successful appeals. Government said that there must be “opportunities for local communities to influence decisions that effect them.”
Application for a 133 acre solar farm in the middle of our Shropshire village, next to ancient woodland, listed buildings and a scheduled monument is being sort which will remove an entire farm from food production. We are being told there is little we can do about it as it is National policy. The Government needs to support planners to refuse large scale agricultural solar applications as it said that it would.
