Petition Action

Stop the Government’s plans for new student loan legislation.

Petition Details

We ask the Government to overhaul new student loan legislation and plans.

Additional Information

The legislation includes increasing the loan repayment period from thirty years to forty, lowering the wage repayment threshold from £27,000 to £25,000 and the department of education has been considering preventing students who do not pass both their GCSE Maths and English from accessing student loans if they do not receive at least a grade four in both. If brought into force all this legislation will massively negatively impact disadvantaged students.
