Initiate open door policy now to Ukrainians seeking asylum from Russian invasion
The Government should immediately remove all red tape and visa requirements for entry into the UK for Ukrainian citizens fleeing the unlawful and horrendous invasion by Russia of Ukraine.
Ukraine is going through a crisis of unprecedented magnitude right now and one of the ways that the UK Government can truly help Ukrainian people at this time is to remove obstacles from those who need refuge in the UK from the atrocities that Russia is undertaking. Ukrainian people who were living peaceful lives a matter of days ago are now homeless, in fear and in need of asylum. The UK needs to step up and welcome those in need immediately without imposing irrelevant and heartless criteria.
