Award a similar pay rise to the remainder of the key workers

Petition Details

Why should MP’s award themselves a pay rise and not the rest of the Countries workforce. I see from the article ‘ https://news.sky.com/story/mps-to-get-1632200-pay-rise-from-april-after-boris-johnson-urged-restraint-12554941’ that MP’s have awarded themselves a £2,200 pay rise.

Additional Information

How is that considered fair? The article published by Sky News gives the background but it doesn’t take into account the thousands of Key Workers who also contributed arduous efforts to keep the country going throughout the pandemic. If it wasn’t for the dedication of these unseen and unsung heroes, the country would have ground to a halt within weeks. Show some respect and award them a pay rise of similar proportion too - NHS Staff, Emergency Services, Civil Servants, Lorry Drivers, etc.
