Abolish affordable rent tenancies
There are a multitude of properties that are currently being let as "affordable" to which a high percentage of people cannot afford to rent. Even recently HA's have expressed this in the media, advising that many people are struggling to pay these rents and also trapping people on benefits.
Affordable rent tenancies should only be let to those that are earning over £60,000 per year, where this is not applicable tenancies should be allocated as social rent tenancies. This would allow those on lower incomes to afford a roof over their heads and hopefully help in reducing the levels of benefits claimed to cover the cost of up to 80% market value for rent.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you want to abolish affordable rent tenancies or change who they are offered to.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
