Petition Action

Make it mandatory for schools to educate over disabilities/conditions/illness.

Petition Details

Make it mandatory for schools to educate children over disabilities / conditions that children have or are diagnosed with in their class to prevent bullying and to help other children understand the disability/condition.

Additional Information

Many children with a disability are bullied or made to feel different. The more we educate, the more children will understand and this will create a better environment and life to the children with disabilities. Let all children thrive. Normalise insulin pumps / colostomy bags / catheters. Let them grow and understand together.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Disability is already part of the statutory curriculum. You can find out more here

assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1019542/Relationships_Education__Relationships_and_Sex_Education__RSE__and_Health_Education.pdf

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
