Petition Action

Make changes to A level and GCSE exams in 2023

Petition Details

Provide A-level students and GCSE students with guided help towards exam content. This may include equation sheets, notes in the exam or knowing what topics will be on the exam.

Additional Information

The current year 12’s had their education affected by COVID 19 when they took their GCSE’s. And many current year 10’s also had their education affected. Many of these students have been mentally affected long term and many think that is only fair that they receive guided revision or something similar to help them. They struggled to find ways to help them in their studies with so many lessons being disrupted by online learning, isolations and various other things.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about arrangements for exams in 2023, but it's not clear what additional support you want to be provided. Schools already provide support to students to prepare for exams, and the curriculum sets out what topics may be covered in exams.

If there are particular adjustments that you want the Government to make to how exams run next year, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, we could accept a petition calling on the Government to reduce curriculum content for next year, so that there are fewer topics that might come up in exams.
