Ukraine Refugee Crisis Home Secretary to face a vote of no confidence

Petition Details

The Home Office response to the Refugee crisis arising from the war in Ukraine has been wholly inadequate.
As of 3 March the UN reported that over 1,200,000 refugees had left Ukraine since the invasion by Russia on 24 February.

By 6 March the UK had issued only 50 visa’s to Ukrainian refugees.

Additional Information

Priti Patel stated on 7 March that the UK had staff in Calais to process visa applications. The Home Office confirmed later the same day that this was untrue.
The Ministerial Code states “Ministers are expected to behave in a way that upholds the highest standards of propriety” and that ministers “be held to account for the policies, decisions and actions of their departments and agencies.
Priti Patel has made false claims re: Calais and is responsible for the inept Home Office response.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept petitions about appointments, which includes calling for Ministers to be sacked or for a vote of no confidence.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or the House of Commons, you could start a petition about that.
