Make energy companies absorb the costs of prepayment meters
The costs of transferring prepayment meters is currently passed on to customers, resulting in higher bills and/or higher tariffs. This seems unfair on the customer, considering the high profits energy make.I want the energy companies to absorb the costs, rather than passing these on to the consumer.
The Government or Parliament have the ability to change the laws. Energy companies are big businesses and try to be a law unto themselves, but still have to obey the laws of the land. Customers usually have very little influence on changing big business practices, whereas the Government or Parliament has the power to do so.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not quite sure what you mean by the "costs of transferring prepayment meters".
The energy price cap applies to anyone on a default energy tariff, whether they are on a prepayment meter or not: www.ofgem.gov.uk/information-consumers/energy-advice-households/check-if-energy-price-cap-affects-you
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
