The government should temporary lower Tax/Fuel Duty charged petrol and diesel
As of 6th of March the price of fuel is extremely high.
Here is a breakdown of fuel as of today £1.55
25.2p - Tax/VAT
58 p - Fuel duty Tax
51.7p - Wholesale Petrol
11p - Bio fuel E10 content
8.1p retailer Margin
1p - Delivery/oil company Margin
The cost of living is going up. Over half of the price of fuel is made up from Tax and VAT. The price of Petrol is expected to hit an average of 1.77p in the coming months.
This is already hurting struggling lower - middle income families. Let alone the families that rely on a vehicle to get to work and from place to place.
The government should lower their tax on fuel while the price is high.
