Planning permission to change residential property to a holiday let or 2nd home.
Requiring planning permission will keep residential property in the residential market and help our communities to thrive.
We have a massive housing crisis, aggravated by properties owned as second homes (for personal use or for profit as rentals). Many local people, including key workers, struggle to get property to either buy or rent.
Whole communities are dying in many places around the country, especially in tourist areas where second homes and holiday let's are out-pricing anything local people could hope to afford.

We're not sure what you mean when you say you want people to be required to get planning permission for a second home, as purchasing a second property would mean a person had a second home, and the planning process only relates to changes to the structure of use of a property, not to its purchase.
