Stop all banks asking for verification when making debit/credit card purchases
Making a purchase (whether online or in real life) is personal to you as it's YOUR money. It has nothing to do with your bank and you shouldn't be asked for any verification when using a credit or debit card. It's happened to me when I tried booking a taxi on my card and it's outrageous.
In my opinion, and many others I'm sure, this is an invasion of privacy and your bank does not need to know what you're purchasing or why you're purchasing it. I believe it is all about social control and has nothing to do with "preventing fraud". It needs to be stopped immediately.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about what systems are in place to require customers to verify transactions are a matter for individual banks, not the UK Government or Parliament. Individuals can decide what banks to use, based on the services they offer.
