Designate public no-wi-fi zones to heal from our always-on society
Our petition asks our government to invest in no-wi-fi zones to combat the omnipresence of smartphones and the effect they’ve had over our spaces, health, and communities.
London has reached the point of hyper-connection; the wi-fi web has been sown throughout the city, and rare are public space where cellphones don’t get service. We’ve lost the right to be offline, and rarely do we see eye-to-eye anymore.
Our proposal is an opportunity re-establish the boundaries between the real and virtual world. It's a platform for expression, empowering people to use their diversity to create unique relationships with their environment and other human beings.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about local wifi availability are a matter for individual businesses and local authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.
