Give more money to support youth mental health in schools.
More money needs to be allocated towards youth mental health in schools. All UK school students need to have access to better counselling services in school and more support for pastoral teams. As reported on BBC news who were told by doctors and nurses that this is a mental health catastrophe.
This should create less of a waiting time for students to have access to counselling. Money will go towards all schools having developed pastoral teams that provide mental health support for students. The £79m the government are suggesting will not be enough to support students especially after the COVID-19 lockdowns where 83% said their mental health has suffered (YoungMinds survey).
