Increase Government funding to Leeds City Council to save Party in the Park and Opera in the Park
Leeds City Council have cancelled Party in the Park and the future of Opera in the Park is threatened and the reason cited is insufficient funding due to Government cuts.
Please provide additional Government funding so that this can go ahead.
Party in the Park has attracted crowds of up to 70,000 people to Temple Newsam while Opera in the Park has previously been described as the biggest open air classical music event in the country.
These events have been described as "the jewel in the crown" and are important cultural events locally and regionally.
