Make it illegal for students to get detentions if they had a valid reason.
To enforce a law for schools and colleges to not be allowed to give detentions to students/children if they had a valid reason to do the thing they got a detention for or they believe it was unfairly given and they can back up their story with witnesses or anything.
Many students have been given unfair and unjust detentions which has made a bad record on their name and many of the times the students that are doing what they had to do to defend themselves or to verbally protect themselves take the blame for what they have done without a teacher/guardian hearing both sides of the story or hearing a backstory.
