Petition Action

Make international trade dependent upon condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine.

Petition Details

To persuade the 51 member states who, on Wednesday 2nd of March 2022, either voted against, abstained or didn't vote at all in the United Nations General Assembly motion ' to demand an immediate end to the invasion of Ukraine ', to publicly change their position and support the resolution.

Additional Information

The Ukrainian people are suffering and need all the support the rest of us can give.
Frustratingly, 51 member states are passively supporting aggression by not supporting the aforementioned resolution. For those member states that were conscious of damaging future/current trade deals with the Russian Federation when they voted, perhaps having their trade with the UK (and the rest of the world) being put at risk will persuade them to do the morally and ethically right thing.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned that certain countries have not condemned Russia's invasion of the Ukraine, but we're not sure if you want the Government to end all UK trade with countries that have not publicly condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine, or seek international trade sanctions against these countries, or do something else.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
