Abolish the Direct Debit Guarantee
Stop companies, Broadband providers in particular from milking the direct debit guarantee and charging the general public whatever they feel like charging on an ongoing basis.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
Your petition calls for the Direct Debit Guarantee to be abolished, but this scheme is to protect customers who have set up direct debits from payments made in error or fraudulently, and it appears that what you're concerned about is the amount of direct debits being changed without the explicit consent of the customer.
If what you want is for businesses to be required to get consent for any changes to a direct debit, we could accept a petition requesting that.
