Petition Action

To limit ads and enforce false advertising laws on and in mobile apps.

Petition Details

Put in laws that limit non optional ads in games to every 5 or 10 mind instead of over 10 to 30 seconds and apply false advertising laws to phone apps.

Additional Information

In most apps on you phone/tablet you are forced to watch an ad every 10 to 30 seconds, now the developers still have to earn money but this time should be at least 5 or 10 min for non optional ads. And by optional I mean ads that don't force on your screen but you choose to watch it for a boost.

You see many ads for games but when you download them the games are completely different.

You can purchase no ad's but that doesn't mean no ads it means no forced ads, how is that not false advertising

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about what advertising to include in a mobile app are a matter for the developers, not the UK Government or Parliament.

UK Advertising rules already apply advertising online, including companies’ own claims on their own websites, social media spaces and advergames. You can find out more about regulation of online advertising here: www.asa.org.uk/news/regulation-of-online-advertising.html
