Change the mortgage process to the same as the renting process.
If people can afford to rent which is potentially paying someone else's mortgage, then said person/s can afford to pay a mortgage, however the protocol to get a mortgage is so difficult with the high deposits etc please change it, rented properties are becoming almost none existent, please help.
The housing crisis is becoming more of a problem, costs of living are increasing more and more people are becoming homeless because there is less and less rented properties, to buy a house for anyone is starting to become impossible, how many people are you willing to see homeless because of this, how many council houses are there available should we need them? Why is it ok to pay anothers mortgage for their security then in the long run we lose it because they decide to sell or stop renting.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about when to offer a mortgage are a matter for individual mortgage providers, not the Government or Parliament.
The Government has created a number of schemes to help people afford homes: www.gov.uk/affordable-home-ownership-schemes
We can accept petitions calling for changes to these schemes, or new schemes, if that's something you'd like to happen.
