Make it a criminal offence to run over a hamster.
Make it illegal to kill a hamster via vehicle on a public road.
I want it to be illegal so hamsters don't die in the road please.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
It is already an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal, which could include running a hamster over with a car. Decisions about investigating and prosecuting alleged crimes are a matter for the police and Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or Parliament.
There are specific requirements to stop and report collisions with certain animals, and we could accept a petition calling for these requirements to be extended to collisions with hamsters, or all domestic animals.
