This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about bullying, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

The Equality Act 2010 already requires public bodies, including schools, to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct prohibited by the Act, and to foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.

You can find out more about schools' obligations to prevent and tackle bullying in the Government's guidance for headteachers, staff and governing bodies: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/623895/Preventing_and_tackling_bullying_advice.pdf

If you think your school is failing to adequately tackle bullying, you can find out how to complain about this here: www.gov.uk/complain-about-school
