Petition Action

Salaries in the NHS must remain proportional after an increase

Petition Details

Salary increase (3%) for all NHS bands is unfair as it creates a huge gap between staff' salary levels. Amounts of increment must be the same for all - from HCAs to managers - to avoid discontent among employees. Example: 3% from 20k salary doesn’t correspond to 3% of 50-70k salary.

Additional Information

Nursing staff and HCAs are fed up with poor pay and unfairness, feel burnt out, and are looking to leave NHS. As a result, patients are suffering due to a lack of nurses.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petition says that you want salaries to remain "proportional" after pay increases, but it's not clear if you want all NHS staff to get the same cash increase in salary, or something else.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
