Extend zero VAT on energy saving materials to DIY installations
Modify the VAT regulations introduced from April 1st 2022 which zero rates VAT on installation of various energy saving materials such that people can buy and install materials themselves at the zero rate.
The people who cannot afford to pay for someone else to install energy saving materials, and who most need to reduce energy bills, are the ones who most need the zero rate, but have to pay the 20% rate.
It is also rather unfair on the large number of people who do DIY must pay the 20% rate.
