Stop the privatisation of Channel 4
Immediately halt the proposal to privatise Channel 4. The channel is profitable and supports independent production companies and nurtures new talent.
The Secretary of State claims that the current funding model prevents Channel 4 from competing with paid streaming services. This is not what Channel 4 is for. Channel 4 fulfils an important public service remit that isn’t met elsewhere. This is cultural vandalism of the highest order.
