Petition Action

Retain public ownership of Channel 4

Petition Details

Please halt any plans by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to privatise Channel 4

Additional Information

Channel 4 is a respected institution, a publicly owned broadcasting service that has proved an industry leader time and again since it was founded. It has been a huge source of funding and support for the UK creative and cultural industries, as well as an asset to the soft power of our country abroad.

All of this, while in public ownership, and yet at no cost to the taxpayer. There is no reason to give up this asset, and no public benefit from doing so.
