Suspend Uganda from the Commonwealth due to it's Government Passing Discriminatory Homophobic Legislation

Additional Information

Responsible department: Department for International Development

The Ugandan parliament passed a bill on 25/02/2014 with the aim of persecuting and oppressing lesbian, gay and bisexual Ugandan Citizens. This bill increases the maximum penalty for homosexuality to life imprisonment, as well as making it a crime not to inform the authorities of suspected homosexuality.

The UK must suspend Uganda from the commonwealth, until Uganda repeals this law and institutes minimum standards of human rights for all it's citizens
