Find out how utilities justify 54% increase when France has only a 4% increase.
1) Explain to UK with itemised breakdowns how they came to justify April 2022 54% increase & Autumn 2022 increases?
2) Ask them to disclose their profit margins.
3) Ask why France increased their utility prices by around only 4%?
4) Ask is this fair?
5) Ask is price cap fair?
Largest utilities had projections in 2022 to pay dividends of billions of GBP to it's shareholders, this information is available publicly. Question if that could be a strategy to avoid paying any windfall tax on it's expected profits from the 2022 price increases. Yet we are seeing adverts on social media announcing the utility companies have only meagre amounts of money to spare ( by comparison to it's shareholder dividends ) for millions of fuel poverty stricken customers.

Ofgem has published details of how the increase in the energy price cap has been calculated: www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/default-tariff-cap-level-1-april-2022-30-september-2022
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review how the energy price cap operates, if that's something you want to happen.
