Increase long-term funding for NHS services for homeless people

Petition Details

The NHS Long Term Plan commits to an extra £30 million to meet the needs of rough sleepers. We want the Government to provide additional funding for NHS health services (physical and mental) for homeless people. The number of homeless people has increased, and so should funding for health services.

Additional Information

We believe homelessness is the most serious issue that plagues modern society. With 1 in 96 people living in Birmingham being homeless, we need to recognise the numbers are too high, and improve support. These people are vulnerable with almost half having diagnosed mental health issues and many having physical health issues. Rough sleepers die 30 years earlier on average - this cannot continue.
