Halt the sale of Channel 4
Withdraw the plan privatise Channel 4.
It is a self funding public service broadcaster that does not cost the taxpayer anything. It has no shareholders or proprietor to answer to, producing a wide range of programmes, many of which may not be made if it was owned by a commercial organisation.
If Channel 4 are privatised will it still continue to employee staff away from London. It has to commission programmes from independent production companies so is vital to the TV and film industry in this country, would this continue?
Also there would be a significant danger that it would become a subscription channel as whoever bought it would need to recoup the £1Billion the Government are asking for
