Petition Action

Give gay couples the same rights to fertility treatment as heterosexual couples

Petition Details

Currently the guidelines state that IVF should be offered to women under the age of 43 who have been trying to get pregnant through regular unprotected sex for 2 years. This discriminates against same sex couples.

Additional Information

Lesbian couples have to spend on average £12,000 just to qualify for IVF. As stated on the NHS website - “12 cycles of artificial insemination, with at least 6 of these cycles using a method called intrauterine.”
