Reform the name of the House of Lords to the House of Peers.
I would like the government to change the name of the second chamber of parliament to the House of Peers.
I want this to happen because nearly 1/3 of the House of Lords is made up of female representatives. It is not fair that the second chamber is labelling itself as an all male chamber, thus the name, House of ‘Lords’. With a clear mix of sexes within the house, it should be named the House of Peers to be inclusive to each and every representative. This is also a valuable way to allow for any future peers who identify as non-binary, for example, to feel comfortable as peer.
