Petition Action

Alter schools dress codes so kids can express themselves within reason.

Petition Details

Schools dress codes in school need to be altered slightly so students can express themselves more and be themselves around their friends. It is scientifically proven that lack of expression as a child can seriously affect your life in the future.

Additional Information

Lots of students in schools want to wear rings, bracelets, or badges, or dye their hair fun colours, but schools rules don't allow them to as apparently it affects their learning, when actually NOT being able to express yourself seriously effects your learning and mental health in the future.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

While schools are required to set uniform policies, the content of those policies is a matter for individual schools not the UK Government or House of Commons.
