Allow all uk nationals to visit their heritage attractions for free
Put in law that any UK citizen. Is entitled, for free, to visit any building that they are already paying for in taxes. And also their forefathers have helped build with their blood sweat and tears.
It is ludicrous to ask citizens to pay to see buildings which they already own. We pay taxes for them. Our ancestors paid and built them and in some cases gave their lives to protect them. Every citizen is entitled to see and learn their history for free. Tourists can still pay. But we already own them.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand you want people to be able to visit certain heritage attractions for free, however it's not clear which such attractions you want to be included.
You could have a petition calling for the Government to fund free entry for UK taxpayers to all historic sites in receipt of Government funding, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
