Take legal action to stop DWP referring to STATE PENSION being classed as a welfare benefit.
SP is a contributions based payment which is taxable. Welfare benefit is NOT contributions based and, in the main, is NOT taxable. It is an untruth and offensive to those of my era who have paid ERNIC for 44 years to qualify for their pension when anybody arriving into the country IMMEDIATELY qualifies for a tax free welfare benefit payment of TWENTYSIX THOUSAND without ever having contributed a single penny towards it. I get £11,492.00pa liable to tax after 44 years of contributions THAT IS NOT A WELARE BENEFIT PAYMENT AND DWP MUST BE BARRED FROM REFERRING TO IT AS SUCH.
