Introduce fitness classes under the NHS service to those post cancer treatment.
Introduce fitness classes under the NHS prescription service. 200,000 people in the UK each year recover from cancer and receive limited to no access to supported fitness programs. Suffering chronic fatigue and severe physical impact there is need to provide supported fitness programs to recover.
To introduce access to local gyms and fitness centres to access fitness classes post cancer treatment under prescribed support. To review the current NHS guidance on the return to fitness post cancer treatment. Along with medicinal prescriptions fitness classes close to the home address of the patient should be included post cancer treatment. To connect with trained fitness professionals across the UK to offer a meaningful pathway of structured and progressive exercise rehabilitation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The NHS can already prescribe exercise as a treatment for a range of conditions. Deciding when to prescribe exercise, and what type of activity would suit a patient, is a clinical decision for individual GPs.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to fund fitness classes for people who are recovering from cancer treatment, if that's something you'd like to happen.
