Petition Action

Implement measures to prevent the continuous rise of house prices

Petition Details

Implement measures that provide the current and future generations with more affordable houses. Measures include but not limited to 1) More houses to be built to meet current & future demands, 2) Restrict foreign purchases/funds, 3) Restrict buy-to-let businesses.

Additional Information

House prices have increased to an all time high, and this is creating a long time problem for the country. Only those that are very affluent can successfully purchase a property. The high living costs and tax on hard earned money for middle to lower class individuals, makes it an unfair disadvantage. The vast majority of the younger generation are unable to get onto the property ladder due to the lack of control in the house prices, and this problem will continue to spiral further.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like measures to prevent house prices rises, but we're not sure what other measures you'd like to see beyond the examples 'not limited to' listed

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
