I would like the NHS to recognise Irlen Syndrome as a medical condition.
I would like the NHS to recognise Irlen Syndrome as a medical condition so children can receive free NHS tests and if required coloured sheets or glasses at primary school.
Many children have Irlen Syndrome, they fall behind at school because parents and teachers are not aware of the condition. If talked about it involves an expensive private test some parents cannot afford. This can cause some pupils falling behind with their education. I would like the Government to recognise Irlen Syndrome so all children can be assessed at primary school and if they receive a positive diagnosis to be provided with free coloured sheets or glasses to assist with their education.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
The NHS is operationally independent, so we can't accept petitions calling for changes to how the NHS recognises or treats particular conditions.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review treatment and care of people with Irlen syndrome, if that's something you'd like to happen.
