Price of first class rail tickets to reflect the cost of providing the service
The high price of for example, first class rail tickets incentivises train companies to provide poor standard class services in order to sell more premium class tickets. This is true of most forms of public transport including airlines.
The only way to prevent commercial interests from providing an increasingly poor standard class service on all forms of public transport is for government to intervene.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Only the price of certain fares is regulated by the Government, and the price of first class tickets are a matter for individual rail operators, not the UK Government or Parliament.
