Work with EEA countries to extend the Youth Mobility Visa
The Youth Mobility visa is in place for 9 countries and is a reciprocal arrangement which allow young people to work for 2 years in another country. The Government should work with EEA countries so this can be extended for young people in the UK and EEA.
With the loss of Freedom of Movement and Erasmus fewer YP will gain an international experience in the EU and the inter-cultural confidence that develops. This could impact on our economic competitiveness. Extending this existing visa to the EU will benefit our young people and assist with skills shortage issues in the UK. Demand could be managed by quotas.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Youth Mobility Visas are currently available for people coming to the UK, rather than UK citizens. We're not sure whether you want to extend the countries that are covered by the visa or for the scheme to be extended and made reciprocal.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
